I Did Not Get All A’s

Many people I know and grew up with, got all A’s.

Their lives were full of academic achievement, careers, promotions, and successful relationships with beautiful women.

Mine was not.

I trusted Jesus and worked very hard to get C’s and B’s, I got fired from jobs, I got rejected by women.

I have had to learn things the hard way.

Do I want success, yes I do and I work hard for it. However, i have come up short many times.

I often wondered, why doesn’t the Lord bless me?

Then I realized…He did.

I thank God for the little He has given me. I thank Him for my little joys and successes. I thank Him for the struggles. And strangely, I thank Him that I have not gotten all A’s.

I thank Him that I have to ability to talk about God’s love to normal people who struggle like me.

I can talk to people who have been fired from jobs, who were not successful at everything.

I can talk to other people who did not get all A’s and tell them that God loves them, too. And yes…. I am reminded of my need for His validation, His confirmation, His leading.

I wish I had gotten all A’s. However, the Lord had another plan for me.

Revelation 3:8  know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
