Made in China

On April 11th on 2023, Joe Biden declared that Covid-19 pandemic emergency is over. The WHO also (more recently) has declared the same. This is after more than a million Americans died and millions of others have died internationally. Now, it may not be extinct, but for all intensive purposes, it has been defeated.

I guess Biden got the word from his Red Chinese masters that it was ok to do this as China was going to try something different to conquer the world. Clearly, it failed to completely make Americans more loving and open to the CCP, and to greater expressions of Socialism here in the United States. Hey, the Covid-19 virus was made in China and I always said that it could not be very well-made and ultimately will fail anyway. China products are not well made across the board! Communism ultimately fails as it has in China, the Soviet Union, and other places. I still wonder why other countries who have lost millions of their citizens to the Covid-19 virus have not actively blamed China or taken steps against them. I wonder why Muslim countries look the other way when millions of Muslims are imprisoned in Chinese concentration camps for their faith.

So the Covid-19 emergency is technically over. When I heard this on the news, I gave a large sigh. I can easily remember back to the middle of the pandemic and the daily worry and fear that it brought. I remember we were all praying that the Lord would work a miracle and for the strength to make it day-by-day. During the pandemic, I remember saying to God that I was thankful for the chance to be reminded of the freedoms and privileges of basic things like going to the movies or the gym or just being close to people—by having those things taken away by everyone’s panic to, “flatten the curve”.

As I stopped and sighed and thanked God that the pandemic was declared “over”, I thought of the story of Jesus and the ten lepers from the book of Luke (17:11-19). In this story, all 10 sick people are healed but only one comes back to thank Jesus. This could be directly translated into our experience with Covid-19. We all need to take a moment and thank the Lord for hearing our prayer to get us through and end the Coronovirus. This is especially true when we consider how many did NOT make it through. As believers, this IS important. While others may be attributing this to science (and I am not denying that science is the road through which the Lord blessed us), our help comes and CAME from the Lord.

1 Chronicles 16:8 Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples.
