Are you interested in hiking? Do you have plans to go hiking this weekend? Have you made the hiking checklist? Well, most of us in the excitement of going for a hike, forget to follow the checklist. And once you are there you realize what you realize what are the things that you have forgotten to bring. Today, we are going to help you with the checklist so that there is no mistake from your side.

The following items should be on your hiking checklist:

  • Hiking backpack: backpack is a must for any Asheville hikes. It is in this bag that you will carry the rest of the items. The bag should never be too small or too big. There are different varieties in the market. Go on looking till you find the right size. The bag itself should be light, durable and water proof. It should have several pockets and zips where you can store all the essentials. In other words, it should be handy and useful.
  • Appropriate clothing: when you are planning to go hiking, you need to make sure that you wear the right clothes. Your tracksuit is the ideal choice. They are comfortable, not to heavy and will not come in the way of your hiking. As far as the material of your tracksuit is concerned make sure that it absorbs the sweat and is not sticky. Avoid materials that you are not comfortable in or experience itching after wearing them. Airy materials are the best as they let the skin breathe.
  • Hiking boots: they play a very important role. The right pair of boots will help you give the right kind of grip. You will not slip or fall down. At times, the trial might be wet and slippery. But with the right pair of shoes there is nothing to worry about.
  • Plenty of food and water: hiking will make you hungry and thirsty. So you need to arrange for food accordingly. As hiking is an intense thing, you will feel thirsty quite often. So carry plenty of water and food so that no matter how hungry or thirsty you are, you have sufficient amount to go.
  • Carry navigation tools: it may happen that you might get lost in the track. Don’t worry, it happens with many of us. Since you are charting an unknown territory, things like these might happen. So carry navigation tools like map and compass. They will show you the right way.
  • First aid-kit: it is an important thing to carry. If you cut your finger or get a scratch, you can immediately dive into your medical kit and do the needful.
  • Knife or multi-tool: we suggest that you carry a knife or a multi tool with you so that if you come across anything that requires a knife to cut open, you will have the resource to do so. Hiking trails are open filled with unruly twigs and branches that need to be sorted before you can move ahead. You will need a knife for the occasion.
