A Prayer for Ukraine

by W M 04/13/2022

Creator, the only God there is, Lord Jesus, who is just to forgive all our sins, Holy Spirit, our help; we adore You (Genesis 1-2) (1 John 1:9) (Matthew 28:19) (Psalm 34:1-4). We call upon you because you are God, who does not delight when wicked people rule over the land allotted to the righteous (Psalm 46:10 (Psalm 125:3). I ask You to save Ukraine. You said, that if there were ten just people, you would spare the whole place for their sake (Genesis 18:26). There are many people there, who are made justified by the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus because they believe in you. These people includes some elders who lived through communism and the persecution of Christians, and they do not want this again (Romans 5:9).

But we do not ask by our merits, but by the merits of Jesus who gave His life to forgive our sins, the only way to God.

We ask you to turn every persecutor of the Christians in the world into “Apostle Pauls”, who will come to You on their knees, trembling, repentant, acknowledging that You only are God who sees everything, and who will be willing to suffer hardships to spread the faith they once persecuted. I ask You to confront them with their sins. (Acts 26:9-23).

Lord, please blind the Russian soldiers, and confuse their intelligence, while this conflict continues. As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Strike this army with blindness.” So, he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked. Elisha told them, “This is not the road and this is not the city. Follow me, and I will lead you to the man you are looking for.” And he led them to Samaria. After they entered the city, Elisha said, “Lord, open the eyes of these men so they can see.” Then the Lord opened their eyes and they looked, and there they were, inside Samaria (2 Kings 6:18-19).

I ask you that you open the eyes of the Ukranian military and fighters so that they see the Chariots of Fire of Heaven on their behalf, and thus raise their morale (2 Kings 6:17).

I ask that You make the weapons, vehicles, strategies, and tactics of the Russians fail to work. I ask You to confuse the language of the Russians and the Syrians as You did in the Tower of Babel (Gen 11:1-9) But that you help the Ukrainians military and fighters communicate with those who are sending aid, and that the Ukrainian refuges learn the languages of the countries in which they presently reside, putting over them tongues of fire, as you did in the first Pentecost (Acts 2:1-5). Give them this sign of your goodness, that the enemies may see you are with them (Psalm 86:17).

I ask you to illuminate the Ukrainian military and fighters as to where the enemy is, give them the strategy and tactics that succeed, and give them rest on all sides (Chronicles 20:1-30) (2 Kings 3:20-24). I ask You that food, water, medicines and weapons arrive to the Ukrainian military and fighters, and to the injured (Psalm 146:7).

God, you are the champion of the widows and orphans (Deuteronomy 10:18). And among those refugees, there are hundreds of thousands of children, who do not yet know their right hand from their left (Jonah 4:11).

You will not turn off your ear to the hungry, the thirsty, the suffering, the broken hearted (Psalm 10:17); (Isaiah 1:17). I pray Psalm 72:4, 14, 19; asking that You save the children of the needy, rescue people from oppression, poverty, and violence. You are a God of Peace and Love (Ephesians 2:14) (1 John 4:8).

God, as You know, the Russians have put bombs inside corpses, which is a type of biological weapon, spreading germs. Please do not allow this abomination.

We humbly ask You to rebuild Ukraine stronger than ever, with a faith of steel, and restore their country. We ask You to provide for the refugees, and bless the people who have given help to them (Matthew 25:36-40). Please, comfort the grieving (Matthew 5:4).

You are Jesus, who the LORD has anointed to bind up the broken hearted, to free the prisoners of war from the enemy, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve, to give beauty instead of ashes, oil of joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair, restore the devastated cities. Ukraine, foreigners will help you, you will be called of the Lord, and you will inherit a double portion of what you lost (Isaiah 61:1-7 NIV). And the Bible says Jesus does everything that the Father says to do (John 5:19). They are in perfect agreement.

Please do not let any Ukrainians or Russians die without knowing Your Son, Jesus. Let them see our testimony, that we forgive our enemies with the same forgiveness that Jesus gave us, so they will know we are Christians and see the peace that you bring (Philippians 4:6). We know that You can do the impossible, God our Lord (Matthew 19:26).

Bless the enemies of the just everywhere in the world with repentance, and with knowledge of who You are. Bless the unbelievers with fear of You, that they know that You are God, and let them see that You are with the believers, and that you will defend them (Proverbs 1:10).

Please, make any curses against the Christians in the world made null and void, and return them to the sender in the form of blessings, in accordance with Matthew 5:44, which says to bless our enemies (Derek Prince, Blesssing or Curse, You Can Choose). Let this unjust conflict end, so that no more Ukrainians and Russians die. We pray to the Creator, the only God there is, in the name of Jesus, amen.
