Yes I am Evil

I recently saw an interesting posting on a group that I am a member of on Facebook. The person asked something to the extent of why he or she (I forget which) was evil because they doubted that Jesus was the Messiah. There were a lot of comments from a lot of different people. My comment (which I believe was right, obviously, but I can back up with scripture) is that he or she is not evil for doubting that but that everyone is evil as we have ALL fallen short of the glory of G-d and Jesus came to redeem all of us and to bring us back into fellowship with G-d.

The point that you are not evil because you doubt is confirmed by Matthew 14:31, Judges 6:17, 1 Kings 19:10, Mark 6:37. Genesis 17:17-18, John 11:39, and many others. Despite these men and women’s doubts, God persisted with them.

The point that everyone is evil is confirmed by Genesis 6:11-12, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Psalm 14:1, Psalm 14:3, Psalm 53:3, Romans 3:9, Luke 11:13, Romans 6:13, Romans 3:10, and many others.

The point that Jesus came to redeem us and bring us back to fellowship with God is confirmed by John 3:16, John 17:23, John 5:24, Romans 6:23, Isaiah 52:7, 1 Chronicles 16:24, John 1:29, and many others.

We are all doubters. None of us have all of the answers when it comes to having a relationship with the one who created all that there is. God loves us nonetheless. We cannot earn that.

We are all evil. We have all sinned. Everyone has fallen short of the glory of G-d. If you doubt that, all you need to do is look at the newspaper.

We all have the opportunity to have all of our evil erased and our lives transformed by the one atoning lamb whose sacrifice was meant to cover it all. Accept it!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him should not die but have eternal life
