Amazing Family Fun Backyard Game

By Jason Walter February 20, 2019\

Summertime is the best period of regaining the long lost family fun time. Watching movies or having a pizza party is too mainstream; there couldn’t be any better option than playing and running with your kids in your backyard and spend quality time with them. I am sure, you as a parent would be pretty much worried about lack of physical activities in your children’s daily routine. So, let’s utilize this summer to play simple games with your kids without buying them expensive playground equipment or commercial playground equipment.

1. Hopscotch

Kids love drawing a hopscotch board on a playground with a chalk of their favorite colors. The moment you give them the chalk, they will quickly draw that traditional block made out of single and double squares. The game’s almost forgotten, but kids will be reminded of it as soon as you take them to play.

2. Hide and Seek

Old is gold as they say! This game is a forever fun for every family. It is played in a group of as many people as you want. One of them becomes the seeker while the rest act as hiders. The seeker covers his face and counts till twenty while the hiders hide. The last person found becomes the seeker for the next round.

3. Freeze Dance

Play some fun music and let everyone do their silliest dance. When the music stops, they have to freeze at their current position. The longer they stay the better. The last person to stay at the freezing position wins the game.

4. Capture the Flag

This game is played between two teams by dividing the playground in two. Each team gets half of the area and has to hide its flag within three minutes. One member of a team volunteers to capture the flag of another team while saving himself from getting caught. He goes to jail if he gets caught. The first team to get the other team’s flag to their group wins the game.

5. Racing

Be it a simple racing or by crawling or hopping, it is fun to play. Make kids run to the other side of the ground and ask them to reach the finish line. The first one to complete wins the race.

6. Pick Pocket Tag

It is the most insane but one of the most fun involved games I have come across. Count the members who are playing then arrange the equal number of fabric pieces. Stick the fabric piece to the back pocket of each member. Then, the intermission starts and everyone has to snatch the fabric from other’s back pocket while saving his or her own. The person with the most fabric strips wins.

7. Shark Attack

The only outdoor playground equipment needed is a hula hoop to serve as the fish’s den. One person acts as a shark while the rest become fishes. The shark calls “fishes, fishes, cross my ocean.” Upon this call, the fishes have to come out of their den and have to get to the other den. The last fish that couldn’t make to the den becomes the shark.

Creative Systems Inc. manufactures, installs and distributes the best quality church playground equipment and supplies for your young ones. It is the favorite destination of kids for the structures that they can enjoy safely.
