This Old Ragged Flag by Johnny Cash

This is not an attempt to equate the Lord with America. America needs the Lord, not the other way around.  It has always been this publication’s goal to help people to remember that.

Ronald Reagan knew that when he said:

“I believe with all my heart that standing up for America means standing up for the God who has so blessed our land. We need God’s help to guide our nation through stormy seas. But we can’t expect Him to protect America in a crisis if we just leave Him over on the shelf in our day-to-day living.”

I also agree with Johnny Cash when he said the following below:

johnnycash

She’s been burned, dishonored, denied, and refused

And the government for which she stands

Is scandalized throughout the land

And she’s getting threadbare and wearing thin

But she’s in good shape for the shape she’s in

Cause she’s been through the fire before

And I believe she can take a whole lot more

So we raise her up every morning

We take her down every night

We don’t let her touch the ground and we fold her up right

On second thought, I do like to brag

‘Cause I’m mighty proud of that ragged old flag
