Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Gay, Err…Way

I have been asked repeatedly to make my blog more controversial by addressing gay marriage and other wonderful topics and giving my opinion about them. Though I intend to address gay marriage and homosexuality in general in THIS blog, I do not intend to give my personal opinion about them as such directly. That I intend to keep to myself.

I do want to address our incompetent and impotent President’s reaction to the events that have happened around the marriage issue. And I do want to give you some inspiration for living in the world that we are in.

On May 14th of 2014 Obama called and congratulated Michael Sam for being openly gay in the NFL draft. He also congratulated Jason Collins just for being gay and playing basketball. I kind of think this is not far from Donald Trump’s criticisms of John McCain being called a war hero for being captured and spending six years in a POW camp. I say this tongue-in-cheek since though he may not have accomplished something great for the country via that, he (McCain) certainly was a wonderful and experienced civil servant. And he would have made an exceptional Commander-In-Chief!

Yet when Chris Kyle, a man who truly was a war hero died, Mr. Obama did nothing to acknowledge him or his service. No mention of him was made in his address the same day, no phone call was made before or after his death, and no officials were sent to his funeral

(http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2015/04/obama-sends-three-wh-officials-to-freddie-grays-funeral-sent-no-one-to-chris-kyles-funeral/ and http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2013/03/01/obama-fails-honor-sniper-chris-kyle/)

No one inquired regarding Mr. Kyle’s sexuality, I think. Maybe if he had been part of a sexual preference minority group Mr. Obama would have been more interested in lauding him as a hero. I think Mr. Obama’s priorities are dangerously messed up.

Now, I am going to assume that you are familiar with the case of Aaron and Melissa Klein in Gresham Oregon, Sweetcakes by Melissa. If not, there is a good summary of the case here. Another case of pandering to gay rights gone amok.

Think all of America is against Aaron and Melissa Klein and being able to make a personal decision if homosexuality is more important than your interpretation of God? Think again. Despite Mr. Obama’s not even acknowledging that the Constitution guarantees freedom to practice your religion, the Kleins were able to raise more than 2x what they were fined. America has spoken! We want our religious liberties!

I know all of this is troubling to us. Here is the inspiration part. I think God knows. I think the Lord knows what we are dealing with. No, we do not have to be passive. Yes, we should push back. Yes, we should hate the sin but love the sinner. Yes, we should make our voices heard. No, we will not allow Mr. Obama to define for us and our children what being a Christian means.

If you do agree with him, that is up to you. I am not here to judge and this great nation was founded by many people with different opinions. But we do not have to accept Mr. Obama’s definition if we choose not to. We can fight for change and we should. However we need to fight on our knees, before the Lord, first.

Hopefully there we will remember, the fight is not ours. The fight against abortion and murder is the Lord’s. The fight to be able to say “no” I will not rent a room to an unmarried couple because I believe that pre-marital sex is a sin, is the Lord’s. The fight to say I will not do business with XYZ company because they are involved in porn is the Lord’s. The fight to say I cannot support an organization that pollutes the environment is the Lord’s. the fight that says I cannot cater a gay wedding because it is against my religion is the Lord’s. The battle is not yours, it is the Lord’s. When we know that and give that to God, we will take the steps in protest for His glory and for His “will be done”.

2 Chronciles 2:15: He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
