Devotional 3/14: The Men of Value Awards Dinner
A little while ago, we had our 3rd annual, Men of Value award dinner where we celebrate one of our interviewees. This year it was Jody Eldred. Jody has been been a cameraman for many years for people like Peter Jennings and other famous newscasters. He is known all around Hollywood. He has met and has called people like Chris Kyle (American Sniper) and Bill Murray friends. He is very involved with his church. At his church, he runs program where he and others teach life-skills to young men social and emotional and life skills.
He is truly a man of value and we appreciate him taking his time to come out from Los Angeles to be with us and share with us his experiences and wisdom.
At the dinner, he gave us a little talk. He reminded us of the values of the Boy Scouts of America.
He reminded us that a Scout is:
trustworthy
loyal
helpful
friendly
courteous
kind
obedient
cheerful
thrifty
brave
clean
and reverent
He reminded us that these values (even though they are originally from a British man, Lord Baden Powell) helped build America and are held in high esteem by many great men today.
