I have been hearing online a lot about MGTOW. MGTOW stands for Men Going Their Own Way, a movement among men of not allowing their lives to be caught up with dating, marriage, or male/women relationships in general. I believe that it started in the 1990s with women’s ability to accuse any man of any tiny shadow of sexual harassment without any evidence and thereby destroying the man’s life. I believe that it started with that but it has grown with women’s mantra of “I don’t need a man” due to the Me-Too movement, the rise of same-sex relationship acceptance, and the label of “toxic masculinity”. A lot of men have just given up and looked at alternatives like concentrating on their careers, finding women from different countries, crossing their fingers that robot wives will be here soon, and porn.

For many years, women have been chanting how they do not need men, all men are pigs, and we need to believe women without evidence, and men are tired of being a part of it. I realize that claims of rape and abuse can be real and they should be investigated. However, most women are just shooting themselves in the foot while getting their “sisters” riled up like a crowd shouting down a cheater on the Jerry Springer show because “Well-behaved women seldom make history”– a popular bumper sticker I have seen on cars. Regarding men, according to the following article, there is a “porndemic” going on: (Pornography Use Among Young Adults in the United States – Ballard Brief (byu.edu).  While not everyone who looks at women is addicted to it, porn addiction is a real thing that you may need help with. Get some help if it is ruining your life and your relationships. There is no shame in taking that step with someone you can trust. But again, not everyone is an addict. I even know a guy who loves Jesus who thought he had a porn addiction but after applying to get help, he was rejected from the program because he was not addicted enough.  I can tell you a personal story of a counselor laughing at me because I thought I was an evil sinner because I was turned on by a statue in an art museum.

I believe that all of this is seriously messed-up. I believe that radical feminism and men spending more time with porn than real women and hoping for robot wives are not what God intended and both men and women are to blame.

These radical positions are having real impacts on the stability of society according to this video by CNN: Why the rate of single men in the US looking for dates has declined (youtube.com). The crux of the video is that men going their own way makes for increases in suicide, crime, terrorism, and societal violence. The video says it directly, “Men without women make for bad citizens”.

But this begs the question, “what is the solution?” Now I understand that it is a complex issue with many causes. However, at its core, I believe that the answer to radical feminism and MGTOW is a return to faith, hope, and love. That is, faith in oneself, society, and God–and doing things God’s way. Also, hoping in oneself, society, and God–and doing things God’s way. And finally, loving oneself, society, and God–and doing things God’s way. I believe these three things will address the desperation that both men and women are experiencing since they have both chosen to go their own ways.
