What do famous atheists like Christopher Hitchens, Brad Pitt, Michael Shermer (of Skeptic magazine), Ronald Reagan Jr,, and Amber Heard all have in common? They all came from homes where their parents told them about God and hoped that they would too, trust in and honor God.

I have been thinking a lot lately about children and the teaching of spirituality and democracy to them. Some people think that you should never do that and allow them to find their own beliefs. Others do not agree with that. Others believe that you should teach your children the Bible or your own religious text or even another book. Some believe that is child abuse to teach children the Bible and certainly the Bible says that it is abuse NOT to teach it. Obviously if you believe the Bible is true, it is a crime not to teach it as you are sending your children to Hell.

Likewise, our nation is not being fed on the documents which were written by those who created it, with the help of the Lord. Those documents, which are full of Bible verses, appeals to Providence, and our Judeo-Christian values seemingly have also been rejected by the people of the United States, today. Our children need to be fed on the truths that are in the essential teachings and documents of our founding fathers and on the Bible. They need to be taught the eternal truths in these documents and in the Bible, otherwise you end up with men and women with no foundation for addressing all of the crazy ideas that the world wants to throw at them: communism, socialism, atheism, and other beliefs that have been shown to make societies degenerate and collapse.

Now, we all need to decide what is right for ourselves. Forcing children to drink from the water we lead them to can create resentment and hatred toward the water and the hope we want them to drink from and us. Remember it is the goodness of God that leads people to repentance! Nor am I saying that the documents that have created our great nation are scripture. However, those documents have created more prosperity and freedom for more people than in any nation in the world.

Proverbs 22:6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
