We live in a world that focuses on “Success”, but we stay away from what “Challenges” each of us. This common thread carries into relationships. Marriage….dating…..friendships all focus on the good stuff and not the challenges that reality brings.

The “Test” of any relationship is the ability to pile through the tough stuff. It is not easy to stick together when the chips are down. However, when people believe in each other given tough circumstances…..now that has teeth to it. It could be a number of events that can drive negative energy:

 Death and sickness of a close relationship
 Job loss
 Income reduction
 Not feeling what you need at that time
 Unhappiness coming from a dead end career
 Realizing who you thought was your friend is not

These are all common events that bring a lousy feeling to someone that can often cascade into other parts of ones life. However, the spouse who can hold your hand during these tough moments is the one. They have to be for sticking with you during the toughest times of your life. When someone can love you when you can’t provide a “life style” they “REALLY” love you. Can they still love you with out the fancy domicile…..cool car…..vacation home…….sparkling jewelry? If they can’t………move on man! The real deal is being with each other during the ebb and flow of life. Life is a journey and you both need to climb the mountain together. I write this from my own opinion and life experiences. They are different from others and my opinion is not the gospel….it is something to think about.
