FAITH – MEN OF VALUE INTERVIEW: GREG C. TAYLOR By James Riordan

Greg  C. Taylor is the founder of SertintyONE, patent pending technology that mixes an intelligence engine into the data file combining real-time analysis and visibility with contextual information, making the data itself an active participant in its own protection and governance to thwart cyber threats.  He is candid and open about his faith: “I hold the highest intrinsic value within my intimate relationship with God (my Father), Jesus Christ HIS Only Begotten Son (my elder Brother), and the Holy Spirit (my Comforter, Teacher, and Life Guide).  I know that you can come to know the Lord’s voice and discern it from all other voices including the things that come up out of your own heart into your conscious mind. Jesus said in John 10:27 (CLV) “My sheep are hearing My voice, and I know them, and they are following me. And again in I John 2:27 (CLV) “and the anointing which you obtained from Him is remaining in you, and you have no need that anyone may be teaching you, but as His anointing is teaching you concerning all, and is true, and is no lie, according as it teaches you also, remain in Him.   I have walked with the Lord since March 21, 1976 (38 years) and have been and I still am a habitual student of the Holy Scriptures. I am trained in Systematic Theology and teach the great Biblical doctrines that have stood the test of time and cultural model changes throughout history. I have married the Science of Axiology to my study of the Holy Scriptures of which, just one of unlimited benefits yields a deeper understanding of the Holy Trinity from an Intrinsic, Systemic, and Extrinsic point of view.”

Taylor is not only a believer,  he is a man who puts his faith into practice in many ways. “I have been an Elder and leader in the Body of Christ for many years. I am a member of Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. I am one of the teachers in a Sunday School Class that includes the Pastor, I teach a Bible Study every Sunday night and as time permits I spend many evenings around my kitchen table with my wife teaching and counseling those who reach out and need spiritual encouragement and help.”

As a true man of God, Greg Taylor is also a man who values his family above all else except his relationship with God. “I esteem and love my family above all others except My Lord and My God Jesus Christ. I define freedom as my life hide in Jesus Christ and HIS righteous-ness. Galatians 2:20 says, “With Christ have I been crucified, yet I am living; no longer I, but living in me is Christ. Now that which I am now living in flesh, I am living in faith that is of the Son of God, who loves me, and gives Himself up for me.” And II Corinthians 5:21 says, “Be conciliated to God!” For the one not knowing sin, He makes to be a sin offering for our sakes that we may be becoming God’s righteousness in Him.

Greg Taylor’s faith has influenced his life in countless ways. “In the book of Romans we are admonished as Christians to live our life by faith. It says, “the just shall live by faith.” I made the decision early in my Christian life that God would be my provider and not man. Romans also states in the 8th chapter the 14th verse “For whosoever are being led by God’s spirit, these are sons of God.” This implies an intimate relationship with my Father in Heaven and a disciplined lifestyle learning how to hear God’s voice and discern it from all other voices.”

As any true follower of God knows, there are also time when your faith must limit your choices. Taylor is no exception. “I have had many opportunities in my life to choose the easy route, the way of the world in the world system. Two examples come to mind the first being a large business deal that I was involved in many years ago when I was in my late 20’s. I along with several senior executives from the company that I worked for were celebrating the closing of a large business transaction on the principles large boat. I was told in the presence of these executives by the principle that there was one thing lacking in order to fully consummate the transaction. I was asked to bring two prostitutes to spend the night on the boat with the principal. To the total shock of the company executives who were with me, I violently refused and stated my principal belief structures and values. My position in Christ ultimately blew up the transaction and caused a major barrier between myself and the executives who had accompanied me on the boat as it meant significant financial loss to the Company. About a year and a half later, the same principle was arrested for attempting to take out a contract on his wife to have her killed. He was convicted and went to prison.

“Second, in my mid-30s I was involved in a multimillion dollar transaction with an automaker here in Tennessee with the software technology company that I started and owned. The executives that we were working with were very hard-core auto manufacturing executives from Detroit who had no values. Myself and my vice president were in the conference room at the automaker to sign the final contractual documents. After I had signed the documents and turned them around to the appropriate executive to sign, he picked up the pen and then put it down and  blatantly asked me to fly him and his vice president along with myself to Mexico to party for the weekend with girls own my expense. He indicated that the contracts would be countersigned on the return flight home from the weekend of debauchery. I attempted to be diplomatic, but to no avail. I got up from the conference table with my vice president leaving the contracts on the table. I told them if they wanted to do business with my company to please execute the contracts and return them to me otherwise we were done. One of them asked me if I was really serious and willing to walk away from the very lucrative deal to my Company on my principles? I said yes, and turned and left. Obviously I never heard from them again.”

I asked Taylor who he looked to for inspiration and guidance.  “I don’t want the first part of my answer to sound trite, but Jesus Christ and the New Testament teachings of Christianity as well as the wisdom of the entire Bible. The New Testament enfolds into the Old Testament and the Old Testament unfolds into the New Testament. In addition I have studied the greats down through the centuries all of my Christian life. Other than the Bible I specifically spend time studying great men of God and their commentaries and their study materials like Dr. Benjamin Breckinridge Warfield, Dr. D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Dr. James Montgomery Boice, and Dr. Gene Scott. “

Like many people of faith Greg Taylor is concerned about the direction of America: “I am deeply worried about our nation because it is going away from belief and a relationship with God Almighty and going the path of humanism in the natural order of things. I firmly believe if the leaders of our country do not wake up and repent of their evil wicked ways we are headed to devastation and destruction. I believe what we’re seeing today is prophesied in the Holy Scriptures and men’s hearts have grown cold towards God. In II Timothy the third chapter versus one through five it says, “Now this know, that in the last days perilous periods will be present, for men will be selfish, fond of money, ostentatious, proud, calumniators, stubborn to parents, ungrateful, malign, without natural affection, implacable, adversaries, uncontrollable, fierce, averse to the good, traitors, rash, conceited, fond of their own gratification rather than fond of God; having a form of devoutness, yet denying its power. Is this not a picture of today? I believe Jesus Christ is going to return for His Church and the world is moving towards that event which the Bible refers to as the end times very fast. The end times is the last seven years of time as man knows time. I am a mid-tribulation believer, and believe the body of Christ is going to suffer terribly during the first 3 1/2 years, but will not suffer God’s wrath.”

Taylor sees our country’s primary problems as being the result of turning away from God: “We have become a godless nation and abandoned basic fundamental Judeo Christian values. It is estimated that between 47% and 50% of American households are on some form of government aid. Our government is broken full of career politicians on both sides of the aisle who refuse to address the serious issues that our nation faces. Neither side will get serious about passing term limits laws, but rather continue to pad their bank accounts on the backs of the 50% of Americans who do work hard for a living. It’s interesting to me how many career politicians initially went to Washington D.C. with little or no financial net worth, but yet typically retire worth millions. Our government for the most part is self-serving and we have approximately 50% of our society who do not want to work but believe it’s up to others to take care of them. The family unit is under attack and we have far too many children without fathers. The Scriptures teach the children left to themselves will bring shame to their mother. The Scriptures also teach that fathers will be held accountable in teaching their children the ways of the Lord. A large percentage of parents today are too busy with their own self-centered self interest desires of their soul to properly train their children in Judeo Christian values. The hierarchy of our values is way out of whack making God for the most part an afterthought.”

More Serious Greg Taylor

And, like most people of faith, he believes that the only real solution is turning back to God: “Godly sorrow and repentance! The Holy Scriptures declare in II Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by My name shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave and require of necessity My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. The root of our nation’s problems is spiritual. Throughout history every great revival was preceded by godly men and women dedicating themselves to fervent praying for a move of God’s Spirit. I pray for an awakening in our country that drives men and women back to God and away from their self-centered self-seeking selfish desires. It is only the spirit of God that can change men’s hearts. Better anything apart from God’s spirit changing the hearts of mankind is a Band-Aid on a gushing wound. I do believe that there are pockets of both Christians and Jews throughout the world who are praying for such an awakening and revival and return to God, Jesus Christ and His values. Maybe this publication can help bring those pockets of godly men and women committed to revival together.”

It’s people like Greg Taylor who are the deeply needed “salt” in our society – the ones shining in the dark, a true Man of Value.
